As the pull starter – after only a few domestic uses at home- snapped off, rendering inoperable this Baumr-AG Petrol Leaf Blower Vacuum 4 Stroke (only purchased in July 2020); consequently attempted to telephone Mydeal but their telephone line is not taking incoming telephone calls (even this month/December) due to covid-19 (covid reason explicitly given on voice message (03) 6120 6131); however Covid-19 in Australia is now well under control (voice messgae same since July to December) – and a customer needs to be able to speak if a seller is genuinely interested in customer satisfaction, too. Note, Edisons returned telephoned message promptly unlike Mydeal who have no such service, too.
Therefore, with email, a replacement Recoil Starter was posted, though no repair installation offered nor video instruction, as was advised this is facile involving screw removal. However, upon receiving the replacement part, this was the case; instead an allen key is required, and a deep socket tool for a bolt located in a tube, which prevented an easy assembly.
I therefore entered into email discussions as MyDeal can not be reached by telephone, whereby Mydeal agreed to the return of the leaf blower at their expense last week. However, when I asked when will the leaf blower be repaired and no time estimate was provided. With Christmas approaching and holiday season there likely maybe weeks or months delay, but I need the leaf blower working now.
Therefore, I went to bunnings and purchased deep socket to unbolt and assemble the machine with the new replacement part; however, after working once, the pull start cord once again snapped off, and with no pull rendered the lead blower inoperable again.
I have contacted Mydeal asking for a resolution, and an escalation to their complaints section I purchased this item in good faith, and only used it on several occasions, and seek a refund, as the leaf blower is not fit for purpose and its parts unfortunately are not long lasting.
I have today spoken with a representative of Edison who supply the blower, and been advised when I return the blower (at their cost), it will go into queue whereupon a refund will definitely be issued. Edison have to date been most approachable, though Mydeal (the agent/middle man for the supplier), have to date been lacking in this regard, too, despite what they may claim based on the facts.
