On sale Generac 13kva Gas Standby Generator. I purchased a 13kVA Generac as a back-up supply for our off-grid house. In the winter we can have many consecutive overcast days, so there’s little solar to keep our 40kWh battery system charged. FYI, drawing a 10kWh load for approx 5 hrs consumes approximately 25kg of LPG. As a result, it’s not cheap to run if you intend to use for 12+ hours every day — it’s really intended for back-up or emergency power. We chose LPG as it’s very low emissions compared with petrol or diesel. Our battery controller triggers the wire start when we start loosing power and works seamlessly. There are a few considerations when purchasing. First, if you go with LPG over natural gas, choose a refillable cylinder instead of cylinder swap. Unlike a BBQ, the generator needs a constant gas pressure and when the tank drops below ~25%, so does the gas pressure and the generator cuts out. As a result you have to exchange non-empty bottles. We have now put in a 190kg cylinder which is refuelled by a tanker. The second consideration is that it’s noisy! Bear this in mind when choosing a suitable site — don’t put it outside a bedroom window :-). In summary, I’m very happy with our Generac. This is one amazing product, we live in the mountains outside of Melbourne, with constant power outages, saw his product, investigated it & purchased the largest size, 13kva. The entire process of installation, gas- fitters & electrician made this effort worth its weight in gold!
The company answered all our questions promptly, extremely helpful & professional, thank-you.
This generator is gas-fired, programmed to automatically run once a week for a few minutes, automatically comes on when it detects power loss from the gird, since installation, two power outages, nothing to fiddle with, this Generac does it all!!
Product looks good, power to supply all our needs & more, hands free unit, reliable, this is absolutely brilliant!! Best investment we ever made!!!

The recent 2 week power outage in the Dandenong’s was an absolute breeze power wise for us, I just shut it down every couple of days to check the oil and fired it right back up again and it was business as usual, so much so that I almost felt guilty.
