Function of the float switch:

Pumps without a float or auto cut out type switch cannot run automatically and have to manually be controlled.

This product was terrific and did such a good job in our recent flood that we bought another so we now have one for the and back yards. Great value for money considering our neighbour spent 3 times the amount and his did not do as good a job at the protege 1500w, would certainly recommend it for anyone needing to pump a large volume of water.
