Mal Kent –
Bought this generator after owning a Honda and this is a far greater unit Not only the generator itself but the Mygenerator store was great old fashion service, very helpful staff and I would recommend the product and store to everyone.
Peter Nuske –
Everything is of a high standard. Quality without question. Works as advertised. Seems very frugal on fuel. Not the cheapest but has the promise of a long and reliable life.
Garry Chaston –
The Yamaha ef1000 meets my expectations from my web research and recommendations from others who’ve used various generators including Yamaha.
John Wise –
An excellent reliable unit. I have had several generators and this one is the best by far.
David Morgan –
I purchased this for camping, as my 140 watt solar panel wasn’t keeping my battery charged. My brother – in – law has the similar Honda. This was quiter than the Honda, and ran for 14 hours on a tank of fuel. Amazing fuel economy! It is also very easy to change the oil, as there is a supplied funnel which makes it very easy to refill the sump. All in all, has to be the best value generator on the market, especially with the 4 year warranty…
John Everett –
A well made, quiet and very fuel efficient generator. Looked at cheaper generators but I did not want to destroy a $3000 National Luna fridge, also the cheapies are false economy as you require far more fuel and it has to be carried and purchased at premium rates in the bush.
Shane Attwood –
Great little generator for camping, shame it doesn’t come supplied with a bottle of engine oil to complete the unit. Super quiet and very light.
Steve Lane –
We used a Honda for many a year with little to no problems, but this Yamaha is far better in every way; lighter, quieter, Great fuel economy
The Yamaha ef1000 exceeded my expectations.
We are very happy campers.

Drew Wassman –
Working beautifully. Easy to start and runs quietly. Fuel economy seems good.
Tim Russell –
The generator was easy to fill, start, stop, and operate generally. It put charge back in to my trolling motor battery in no time and allowed me to get back on the water fishing. It transported easily in the car. No petrol fumes or mess. Just what I wanted!
Peter Solari –
Our review is quite simple, we just wanted a generator that will start easily and powers what we need to power. It has done both so we can’t be more happier.
Cam Lucas –
Great product, light weight, quiet and economical.
Bryan Cooper –
Good little unit, given it quite a work out already. Previously had the Honda 10i but this beats it in all categories. Quieter, more efficient and lighter. Only negative is filler hole for oil is a bit dicky, hard to fill without spillage.
Rick Elliott –
Good item. As advertised, works great.
Phillip Nash –
Great little generator. Runs my fridge when we are camping with no faults.
John Eason –
Have just returned from a 14 day boat trip on the Murray River. The Yamaha 1000iS generator made light work of running the Engel fridge and charging the deep cycle batteries. It started first pull every time and supplied all the power we needed whilst running on its economy mode. Noise level and fuel use were both excellent. The light weight and compact size of the unit made it easy to move around and store on the boat. A great little generator, ideal for my needs.
Jamie Martin –
Absolutely ideal for our needs. It is lightweight, quiet and super efficient. Best generator in its class hands down.
Sam Reid –
I purchased this little generator as a backup for my reef aquariums in power outages and camping duties. The unit practically paid for itself when we lost power two weeks after it arrived (how weird/lucky is that?). Of course I wasn’t home, but my wife got it started easily, using the manual and some guidance over the phone.
Filling with oil can be a little fiddly, but the rubber funnel hidden under the generator helps a lot with this. Overall, it’s very quiet, and 1000w is more than enough for my needs.

Have used the Yamaha 1000w inverter generator a few times now. Always starts first time, lovely and quiet as promised. Tremendous backup when free camping in our motorhome when the house batteries lose charge.
Robert Greenwood –
Very good unit. I use it to charge lipo batteries for my model RC aircraft at the flying field. It is very quiet starts first time as we fly at a noise sensitive site and as i flyfish and camp as well it will come in handy in more ways than one.
Phil Horner –
The Yamaha ef1000is we purchased through My Generator is exactly what we wanted from our generator. Quality, price, performance and especially the compact dimension was as described. Very happy customer.
Joewdwd –
Great generator. More expensive than others but it is light, small, relatively quiet. We have solar panels on our RV and 2x100A batteries. The generator is perfect for those rainy days and only needs 2 or 3 hours to top our batteries. It is not as ‘silent’ as the advertising might suggest, but ok.
Hayley Mackenzie –
Compact easy to store in our camper trailer. Got with bonus deal of bag and oil. Bag doesn’t fit the best but good for simple dust cover. Not quite as quiet as expected though does exactly what we need it to do. Would recommend it as a little generator for camping, with or without camper trailer
Warren King –
Very easy to operate, the noise level is good, particularly on the economy setting. I have used it to run a very old fridge in my garage which can use over 1500W for a second or two when starting and up to 500W when running, plus 4 large double fluorescent lights. I bought it for loss of power emergency use at home and for battery charging in my motorhome when camping without power and I am sure it will manage both tasks with ease.
David McVicar –
The 1kw Yamaha starts like a charm and purs like a kitten. I am using it on a catamaran when the solar isn’t enough and I need to give the batteries a boost or use power tools on board. Perfect for the job. The compact size and light weight means it stows away easily and is no chore to move to the end of the deck to avoid exhaust fumes blowing our way. Happy to add a Yammy generator to my Yammy outboards which are just as quiet and reliable.
Jake Richards –
I ordered the 1000w yamaha and within 3 days it was at my doorstep. Sensational service, and the unit itself has been brilliant.
Greg Hawtin –
Hi Steve, I have used the new Yamaha 1000is Generator for camping lights, fridge and recharged my batteries on vehicle. I can not believe how the small amount of fuel is used in an hour while it is charging at 600watts.
I have had a number of other generators over years, the Yamaha is the best generator!!
Kind regards Greg Hawtin
Wayne Duggan –
A unit that is light weight and great value. Provides power on the go at a reasonable price and at a noise level that is lower than expected.
Russell Hall –
Tell you a funny story. After amazing service by Matt at My Generator, & NEXT DAY delivery to country NSW, my little blue Yamaha baby arrived! Woohoo! Was I a happy camper! (Not literally, as I hate camping.) Filled her up with fuel & oil AND even read the instructions! Hmmmmmm. Read the instructions again…. Then referred to the specifications on the side of the water pump in the shed that I want to run on the odd occasion…. #$@*%#@$ I HAD PURCHASED THE WRONG SIZE GENERATOR!!!! My fault entirely, NOT My Generators fault in ANY way….. So I now have For Sale a brand new, started once, NEVER USED, Yamaha 1000w Inverter Generator. Mind you, it did start up like a dream! In the words of Homer Simpson, D’oh!
Jarrod Dolenec –
I considered buying a cheap Chinese generator but decided to spend the extra coin and get the yammy. Having owned a few Yamaha outboards I knew it’d be reliable and use bugger all fuel. Fair dinkum, it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought!
Cam Lucas –
We use generators all the time in the bush to run power tools for weed control. Having to carry the generator up and down mountain sides with packs on we need something light with good fuel economy and quiet due to working in close proximity all day.
The Yamaha EF1000is is the perfect choice as it ticks all these boxes.
Brian Foster –
after buying cheap generators having a Yamaha it was a pleasure to use could recommend them to any one
Mike Stalley –
Purchased the generator as a backup to the solar panels to charge the camper trailer batteries. The main issues were weight, noise and reliability. It weighs less than a jerry- can of diesel, is reasonably quiet (in the silence of the bush at night) and four year warranty is a selling point. Used it this week with a power outage to run my home office, no problem with computer, phone chargers etc.
Hugh Mccarron –
It is great for the yacht. Small for storage and light enough for an old fella to lift.
Gay Lee –

Di Chapman –
We considered putting an auxillery battery in the back of our wagon as we had done with previous vechiles. As we have a solar, 12 volt van we decided to get a generator as if we need to top up batteries in van we would get better value. Also we could use it for minor repairs running powered tools. Easy to start and quiet.
